Ashley was a competitive gymnast for 9 years, competing skills up to level 9. She won multiple state championships on individual events, the all-around, and team. Her gymnastics career ended after high school when she decided to try out for the cheer team at the University of North Texas. Ashley cheered for UNT all four years she attended and was the captain of the team her fourth year. In 2008, the team placed 5 th at the NCAA National Cheerleading Competition. She graduated from UNT with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology in 2010. Ashley started coaching gymnastics 14 years ago, and has taught various levels and ages over the years. After college, she took a full-time position with a health care company where she worked for 5 years. Part-time, Ashley also coached an all-star cheerleading team

and multiple tumbling classes at Champion Cheer Justin. In 2016, She made a career change and is now a Scientist at Abbott Diagnostics. Gymnastics has always been a passion of hers and she looks forward to sharing that passion with her tumbling students at Dana’s Studio of Dance.

Colleen Hunt

Colleen Hunt

Colleen began her life of dance at the age of three. She recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas Tech University with a BA in Dance and a BA in Advertising. She danced competitively through grade school and won numerous awards and scholarships at conventions around the DFW metroplex as well as nationally. Colleen also participated in competitive cheerleading at LCA and cheered at Duncanville High School as both JV and Varsity captain through her four years. In college, she was President of Dancers With Soul Hip Hop Dance Team.

Colleen has trained extensively in jazz, ballet, modern, hip hop, improvisation and choreography. She loves to explore the physics of dance while staying in touch with a somatic approach. She believes dance is an important form of communication and expression and hopes to share her passion with students and the community.

Ms. Kunte graduated with a B.A. in Classical Ballet in 1987 from the “Escuela Superior de Musica y Danza,” one of the top Classical Dance Conservatories in the Americas, where many talented classical dancers emerge and join the most prestigious Ballet Companies in the world.

She studied classical ballet for 10 years at the conservatory, and after finishing her Classical Ballet Studies she joined the most prestigious Ballet Company in Mexico, “La Compañía Nacional de Danza,” which is one of the Top 20 Ballet Companies in the Americas. During this time, she worked under the direction of Ballet eminence FERNANDO ALONSO, Nellie Happee, Susana Benavides and other Ballet masters including Melissa Hayden, John Clifford, Mark Godden, Emilieta Etlin. Later, she also joined the “Ballet de Monterrey,” under the direction of the Great World Ballet Dancer FERNANDO BUJONES and Angelica Kleen, where she performed several soloist roles.

Ms. Kunte has sixteen years of professional dance experience as a Classical Ballerina with more than 1,300 professional performances in different theaters around the world. She has had the opportunity of performing Ballet repertoires such as The Sylphide, The Nutcracker, Graduation Ball, Swan Lake, Carmina Burana, The Sleeping Beauty, Aida, Coppelia, Giselle, Les Sylphides, Theme & Variations, Serenade, Raymonda, La Bayadere, Rhythm of Jazz, Le Corsaire, Paquita, Diane & Acteon and Don Quixote.

Ms. Kunte has shared the stage with world figures like Fernando Bujones, Paloma Herrera, Cynthia Harvey, Julio Bocca, Damian Woetzel, Evelyn Cisneros, Martine van Hamel, Maximiliano Guerra, Martin Van Hamel among others ballet stars. She has also attended Cuballet Summer Workshop where she took classes with World Prima Ballerina Assoluta ALICIA ALONSO, Laura Alonso, Josefina Mendez, Aurora Bosch, Mirta Pla and other great Ballet Figures. Ms. Kunte also competed in the III International Ballet Competition in Jackson, Mississippi, receiving outstanding press and TV interviews regarding her performance.

During her career, she has taken several dance & ballet instructions, including: Music for Dance, Anatomy for Dance, Theory of Dance, Dance Intensive, Ballet Intensive, Pas de Deux & Repertoire, Cuban Technique, Vaganova Technique and Cuballet in Havana, Cuba. Ms. Kunte also participated in several Important Dance Festivals such as: Festival International Cervantino, The Sixth Latin American Dance Festival Camaguey Cuba, Festival of Dance in Havana, Cuba, The Sixtieth Anniversary of the Fine Arts Palace in Mexico City, and Mexico’s Splendor of 30 Centuries in San Antonio & Houston Texas.

Heather Wallace

Heather graduated with a BA in Dance and a minor in Psychology from Texas Woman’s University in May of 2010. She is trained in modern, ballet, tap, lyrical, jazz, pointe, and hip hop and is currently teaching at Dana’s Studio of Dance Southlake and Dana’s Studio of Dance Coppell. Heather is currently a member of Simple Sparrow Dance Company. In college, she studied under professors Jordan Fuchs, John Dixon, Sarah Gamblin, and Mary Williford-Shade, and she has taken workshops from guest artists such as Anthony Russo, Katelyn Harris, Nick D’Nickelangelo, Stacey Tookey, Justin Giles, Travis Wall and many others. She continues her dance education by attending annual conventions such as Nuvo, Adrenaline, Jump, The Beat, and West Coast Dance Explosion. Her ultimate goal in teaching is to share her love of dance, quality technique, and exciting choreography through dance basics and anatomical fundamentals in a positive atmosphere.

As a former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader and Dallas Mavericks Dancer, Jennifer has had the opportunity to perform on many stages across America, but the most honored performance took place overseas as a USO entertainer. Jennifer has been involved with many of our Dallas heroes as well, with opportunities to teach, perform, and meet with the children of the Make A Wish Foundation, Christian dance programs, and the Children’s Hospital.

In 2010 she had the opportunity to dance for two years on the stages of the happiest place on Earth, Walt Disney World, as a character performer. As a Graduate of the University of North Texas and Kilgore College, Jennifer made a trip to Washington DC as a Kilgore College Rangerette and performed in the 2000 Presidential Inaugural Ball and Parade. Her experience has taken her around Texas instructing and performing for many camps, competitions, and parades. She has been a dance teacher and director since 2002 and is a Personal Trainer with a double certification from the nationally recognized Cooper Institute. Jennifer is excited to now be a part of Dana’s Studio of Dance and looks forward to building the Drill Company into another successful program like only DSOD can offer.

Kamille Willi

Kamille Willi has passion for dance and has been dancing for 28 years, with focus on ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, and modern dance.
Kamille attended The University of North Texas where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2009 with a BFA in Dance Performance and Education.  While at UNT Kamille was a member of dance honor society Chi Tau Epsilon. Under the direction of Shelley Cushman, Kamille advanced her knowledge of dance by extensively studying the human anatomy and the kinesiological movement of the dancer. She also has strong training in the pedagogical methods of Anne Green Gilbert, who is internationally recognized in children's creative movement. In college Kamille was exposed to modern dance and studied in Graham, Horton, and Alexander technique, along with Laban Movement Analysis and Bartenieff Fundamentals.
And had the opportunity to be instructed by members of the José Limon company through the residency program in the Dance Department at UNT.
Kamille has been a full time dance educator since graduating. She has had the pleasure of teaching children of all ages in the metroplex at the recreational level and at the competitive level. From 2011-2016 Kamille was a dance instructor at Studio A, and spent the 2015-2016 dance season as company director. Melding together the importance of technique and artistry, Kamille finds no greater joy than passing along her love of dance to the next generation.

Tina, a Dallas native and graduate from the University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in Public Relations. Tina is currently represented by one of the top Dance Agencies in Los Angeles, Go 2 Talent Agency. She moved to L.A. in July of 2009 and was on the work-study/scholarship program for the world renown Millennium Dance Complex. Tina, has served as a Hip-Hop/Jazz instructor for the Jr. Program at Millennium Dance Complex since January 2010. She has currently been assisting many choreographers in the industry. Tina has worked with such artists like Nicole Scherzinger, Beyonce, Nelly Furtado, Enrique Iglesias, etc. Other credits include L. A. LIVE Morning show, AT&T promotional Tour, Bloomingdales, MTV Dancelife, and reality TV show Mobbed. etc. Before moving to L.A., Tina was the Hip-Hop Director at Ultimate Dance with 3 award winning Hip Hop companies. She has choreographed for numerous dance teams all over the metroplex and her choreography has been recognized all over the state. Tina is extremely grateful for all her accomplishments God has blessed her with. She absolutely loves being inspired by her students who work extensively to improve their ability.
