Ashley was a competitive gymnast for 9 years, competing skills up to level 9. She won multiple state championships on individual events, the all-around, and team. Her gymnastics career ended after high school when she decided to try out for the cheer team at the University of North Texas. Ashley cheered for UNT all four years she attended and was the captain of the team her fourth year. In 2008, the team placed 5 th at the NCAA National Cheerleading Competition. She graduated from UNT with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology in 2010. Ashley started coaching gymnastics 14 years ago, and has taught various levels and ages over the years. After college, she took a full-time position with a health care company where she worked for 5 years. Part-time, Ashley also coached an all-star cheerleading team

and multiple tumbling classes at Champion Cheer Justin. In 2016, She made a career change and is now a Scientist at Abbott Diagnostics. Gymnastics has always been a passion of hers and she looks forward to sharing that passion with her tumbling students at Dana’s Studio of Dance.

Bridgette Fargason

Bridgette Fargason

Bridgette Fargason began her dance training at the age of five. Her father’s military career gave her the opportunity to continue her studies across the country from Hawaii to Virginia in tap, jazz, musical theatre, and the Royal Academy of Dance ballet syllabus. She started choreographing for local theaters when in high school.

She studied for two years under Ingeborg Heuser at the University of Texas at El Paso before finishing her Bachelor of Arts in Dance Performance degree at a Point Park University in December of 2005. After graduation she danced two seasons with Atlanta Festival Ballet and choreographed productions for locals schools. She then married a soldier and began teaching at Bates Dance Studios in Manhattan and Junction City, Kansas whole also performing and choreographing with community theatres. She took a break for a few years to move to Texas with her husband and two children and was honored to begin teaching at Beyond the Movement in Fort Worth, Texas and the Fort Worth Dance Collective. She is very excited to now be teaching at Dana’s Studio of Dance in Southlake and Keller and growing with her students in the beautiful art of dance.

Bryan Cunningham

Bryan Cunningham

Bryan Cunningham is originally from West Virginia. He has trained, on full scholarship, with Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, North Carolina School of the Arts, Houston Ballet Academy, and The School of American Ballet. He has danced professionally with Cleveland/San Jose Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, Florida Ballet, Madison Ballet, Avant Chamber Ballet, and Contemporary Ballet Dallas. While in Dallas, he performed in “Show Boat” with The Dallas Opera. He also danced in Donn Arden's "Jubilee!" at Bally's Las Vegas Resort. Bryan has worked on several television shows. He has appeared on HBO, ABC, Bravo, E! TV, PBS, Kansas City IMAX, Ryan Seacrest Live on Fox, as well as the the Travel and Discovery Channels.

Catherine started working at DSOD Southlake in the summer of 2013. She began dancing at the age of 4 and continued for 12 years at the Paula Bishop School of Dance in Dallas, Tx. She worked in Child Development for 3 years before having 4 children of her own and was able to pass on her love of dance to them as well. Her son Nathan, danced for many years for the DSOD Company, and now teaches. Her daughter Savannah dances with the Company, and Caz attends classes at DSOD as well. Catherine loves working with children and having the opportunity to instill the love of dance in their lives.

Dee Dee has been teaching at DSOD since 1999. Her dance training began at the age of 3 and continued through high school. She studied at Barbara Wood, Bruce Lea and Frances Lea Studios. Dee Dee is a 1989 graduate of Texas Christian University with a BBA in Marketing. From college she went to work for Delta Air Lines where she was a flight attendant for 22 years. She is also an AFAA Certified group fitness instructor for, LA Fitness, Griffin Fitness and Harris HEB Fitness Center. She has been married to her wonderful husband Adrian since 2002 and they have 2 terrific children, Logan and Gabriella. Dee Dee wants her students and parents to know what an honor and privilege it is to teach your precious children and watch them grow from year to year. Most people are unaware that Dee Dee is Dana’s sister.

Derrius J. Harmon

Derrius J. Harmon

Derrius J. Harmon (Bang) began dancing in high school, at the age of 17, at Oscar Dean Wyatt High School. He spent his senior year training in jazz and modern. Bang attended Tarrant County College where he joined the resident pre-professional dance company, “Velocity.” Soon after, Bang ventured into street/club styles of hip-hop (popping, locking, waving, tutting, house, etc). His love for performing granted him the opportunity to showcase his work at local events, such as Move To Groove and work with local dance company Contemporary Dance Fort Worth. He has worked with industry professionals on music videos & movies, as well as trained with some of the top choreographers in L.A., where he lived for a year. Currently teaching all over the DFW area, Bang embraces his love for choreographing by empowering the youth, and aims to help dancers train and prepare for the dance industry.

DJ Guthrie

DJ Guthrie

DJ Guthrie hails from Dallas, Texas and made his way to LA after dancing with the Orlando Ballet for 9 years. Since then DJ has appeared in films such as High School Musical 3, 500 Days of Summer, Shrek Forever After and The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever, as well as television performances on Glee, Dancing With The Stars, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Video Game Awards, American Idol, Bones, Better With You, The CMA Christmas Show, America’s Got Talent, The 81st Academy Awards, The 63rd Emmys, CSI: Las Vegas, So You Think You Can Dance, and also performed with the national touring company of CATS.

DJ has co-choreographed/danced in commercials and live performances for Ford, McDonald’s, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Memorial Hermann, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, and was choreographer for the TV show “Your Chance to Dance” on CMT, and on the creative team for Miss Angola.

Aside from working commercially, he teaches master classes for The Edge Performing Arts Center in Hollywood, CA as well as studios and professional companies all over the country. His innovative approach to musicality and movement theory, extensive technical vocabulary and blend of several styles into one has gained him a continually growing following. Most recently, DJ has found himself back home in Dallas!

New Movement Hip Hop Crew Director

Eboni Ivery has been dancing since the age of four. She started her training in Dallas where she began studying tap, ballet and hip-hop. At the age of eight, she joined CPAC, a professional touring company, where she started to sing and dance for their elite group, Unity. During this time, she continued to take classes from a variety of choreographers and studios in the DFW metroplex (DSOD being one of them!). At the age of fifteen, Eboni was selected as one of seven dancers to tour with Big Idea Entertainment, which included thirty-six cities. She studied hip-hop, jazz, ballet, tap and musical theatre at studios such as Rhythm Nation and Dallas Powerhouse of Dance. She has also attended a variety of workshops and seminars ranging from DBDT2 Summer Intensive to Edge Dance Convention. She has performed at events such as “The Move to Groove Ball”, “Dancers For A Cause” and “Six Flags Holiday In The Park”. Eboni attended Tarrant County College where she was a part of the dance program. Eboni enjoys teaching her students and taking a class at Studio 74 and Millennium Dance Complex.

Emily began her training over 25 years ago. Growing up, she was trained in dance, gymnastics, and cheerleading. While training, Emily won numerous awards and scholarships under the direction of Kim McSwain. Her training includes Doug Caldwell, Mia Michaels, Tara Foye, Marty Kudelka, Dee Caspary, Joyce Seabourne-Bader, to name a few. At the age of 9, Emily was selected to perform a duet with Doug Caldwell in a faculty performance for Tremaine Dance Conventions and by the age of 12, she was cast as the lead role in the Fort Worth/Dallas Ballet production of The Nutcracker. Emily has a strong classical ballet influence that is obvious in her fresh, new style of choreography. She will continue to strive, with her unique style of teaching and choreographing, to keep dancers hungry to pursue their dreams of one day being professional dancers.

Heather Wallace

Heather Wallace

Heather graduated with a BA in Dance and a minor in Psychology from Texas Woman’s University in May of 2010. She is trained in modern, ballet, tap, lyrical, jazz, pointe, and hip hop and is currently teaching at Dana’s Studio of Dance Southlake and Dana’s Studio of Dance Coppell. Heather is currently a member of Simple Sparrow Dance Company. In college, she studied under professors Jordan Fuchs, John Dixon, Sarah Gamblin, and Mary Williford-Shade, and she has taken workshops from guest artists such as Anthony Russo, Katelyn Harris, Nick D’Nickelangelo, Stacey Tookey, Justin Giles, Travis Wall and many others. She continues her dance education by attending annual conventions such as Nuvo, Adrenaline, Jump, The Beat, and West Coast Dance Explosion. Her ultimate goal in teaching is to share her love of dance, quality technique, and exciting choreography through dance basics and anatomical fundamentals in a positive atmosphere.

As a former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader and Dallas Mavericks Dancer, Jennifer has had the opportunity to perform on many stages across America, but the most honored performance took place overseas as a USO entertainer. Jennifer has been involved with many of our Dallas heroes as well, with opportunities to teach, perform, and meet with the children of the Make A Wish Foundation, Christian dance programs, and the Children’s Hospital.

In 2010 she had the opportunity to dance for two years on the stages of the happiest place on Earth, Walt Disney World, as a character performer. As a Graduate of the University of North Texas and Kilgore College, Jennifer made a trip to Washington DC as a Kilgore College Rangerette and performed in the 2000 Presidential Inaugural Ball and Parade. Her experience has taken her around Texas instructing and performing for many camps, competitions, and parades. She has been a dance teacher and director since 2002 and is a Personal Trainer with a double certification from the nationally recognized Cooper Institute. Jennifer is excited to now be a part of Dana’s Studio of Dance and looks forward to building the Drill Company into another successful program like only DSOD can offer.

Kristen Cawyer

Kristen Cawyer

Kristen is trained in all forms of dance and musical theatre and she is equally passionate about both. She has taught for Dana’s Studio of Dance since 2011. She earned her BA in Theatre from the University of North Texas as well as earning her “Mousters” Degree in Entertainment Show Production from the Walt Disney World Company. Kristen taught Theater at Woodland Springs Elementary School in Keller ISD, before moving to Orlando to perform for “Sesame Street Live” at Sea World in Orlando, Florida. Kristen has filled her career with musicals, dance, choreographing, and acting, starting at a young age; starring in musicals such as: The Sound of Music, Les Miserables, Lucky Stiff, Annie Get your Gun, Seussical, The King and I, The Little Mermaid, and many others. Kristen has danced for thirteen years, specializing in tap, ballet, jazz, and hip-hop, taking master classes under Kihyoug Choi, and the New York Goofs. She has also taught special needs cheerleading and dance since 2012.

Kristen is thrilled to be back in Texas.

Linda Wilcox

Linda Wilcox

As a dance teacher with over 30 years of experience, Linda is proud to say that her greatest strength is her ability to “connect with children.” Before coming to Dana’s to teach, Linda spent decades performing professionally. She began her professional career at Six Flags Over Texas, where she was featured as a singer and dancer in the Southern Palace. She entered the Miss Texas Pageant representing both Arlington and Dallas different years. She came in second runner-up her second year and first place for talent and swimsuit. She was featured the next year as a dancer in the show as well as a vocal soloist. She has done TV commercials for Wendy’s, Safeway, Radio Shack, Weir’s furniture and more. She has also appeared as a principal in industrial films for IBM, Pearle Vision Center & Mary Kay to name a few. She has performed (dancing and singing) for such companies as Dr. Pepper, Zales, Frito-Lay, Southwest Airlines, Chevrolet, Dairy Queen and Caesar’s Palace. She has done choreography for companies like Southwest Airlines, Mary Kay and Merrill Lynch. In 1980, she joined the Dave Tanner Band as a female singer and is still with him today performing at corporate events, weddings and many other venues. In 1995, Linda began touring the auto show circuit as a presenter for Chevrolet. She is married with two children. Her husband is an attorney as is one of her daughters, Jennifer. Her other daughter, Lindsay, is a reporter and weekend anchor on NBC 5 news. Linda is honored to be working for Dana’s Studio of Dance and thanks all the parents for trusting her with their precious children.

Maggie Gray

Maggie Gray

Maggie Gray has been dancing and performing for the past 17 years and has been trained in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, and musical theater. She attended Dana's Studio of Dance as well as DFW Performing Arts Conservatory growing up which gave her the opportunity to perform at Disney World along with Universal Studios in LA. While at DFW Performing Arts Conservatory she got to perform in various musicals such as Grease, Footloose, and Godspell. She recently graduated with her Bachelors in Theology at The King's University and in her free time she enjoys performing in local musicals such as Gateway Church's original "Chasing Lights." Maggie has always had a passion for the performing arts and loves being able to share that passion through teaching the next generation of upcoming artists!

Matt King

Matt King

Matt King has been partner dancing for over 25 years and professionally teaching for 10. He co-owns Daily Dance Services with his wife Marina Motet. They teach over 30 different partner dances from Ballroom (American and International) to 30s Swing, Alternative Latin and Country Western.

Matt started his adventure in dancing at a young age by learning country social styles like 2 step, 3 step and country Waltz . His love for teaching ignited when he was exposed to Ballroom styles and later began working in studios at age 21.  He was awarded multiple times as a top teacher while he worked for TCDCI clubs. His success in working for multiple studios allowed him to branch off and open a studio with his dance partner and wife.  Relevant training and experience includes:

Strong Variety in diverse syllabi from leading dance organizations like Fred Astaire , TCDCI, DVIDA & Arthur Murray's with knowledge up to a Gold Standard.
A thorough understanding of material for Man's and Woman's parts and how to instruct teachers in Introduction of material, foot patterns, timing, musicality, technique, styling and continuity.
Years of accumulated knowledge under a Fellow in the IDTA in both American and International styles. Additional training under a UCWDC champion and judicator in Country Western.
Developed and implemented a Neo Tango Argentine Syllabus Extensive historical research in dances and their origins.

Melanie Tyler Horne

Melanie Tyler Horne started training in the field of dance at a very young age competitively and continues into her adulthood, professionally, as a judge, master teacher, company director and choreographer. Her dance training includes Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Modern, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, Drill Team, and Leaps and turns. She has had extensive training with renowned dance artists such as Mia Michaels, Suzie Taylor, Michelle Assaff, Mandy Moore, Gil Stroming, Ray Leeper, Justin Giles, Kim Wolfe, and Doug Caldwell as well as many more NY and LA Choreographers. Melanie started her training in the "convention" circuit at the age of 13. She has also trained in New York at Steps on Broadway and Broadway Dance Center. She continues her training every year to help further her own dance education, and in order to enrich her dancers training every summer.

Throughout her dance career, Melanie has participated in halftime performances for the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys. She has also performed at Industrials for Mary Kay, Toni and Guy, Mistle-Toe and Magic, the Texas State Fair, the East Texas State Fair, Batman Stunt Show at Six Flags Over Texas, the Lincoln Center in New York City and various other venues. Melanie has been awarded many dance scholarships at conventions and competitions including, Tremaine, West Coast Dance Explosion, LA Underground, LA Dance Force, and Dance Olympus. She also received highest honors as "Dancer of the Year". In her Drill Team career, she was an officer of her high school Drill Team in Tyler, TX. And has choreographed for numerous Drill Teams, including Tyler Junior College Apache Bells, and the Kilgore Rangerettes. Melanie has also choreographed an off Broadway show at the Lincoln Center in New York City, and just recently choreographed for ABC’s Television show “American Crime”, and also for Fellowship Church Choreographing for So You Think You Can Dance’s Joshua Allen.

Melanie has taught dance in the DFW area since 1998 and in 2013 recently started her own dance company entitled DV8 the company. She has been recognized as a top choreographer regionally and nationally, winning the coveted title of "Teacher of the Year" in the Dallas area. She is known across the country for having technically trained dancers, as well as very emotional performers. Melanie teaches her dancers everything that she has learned, and having grown up in the competitive world herself, she takes great pride in making sure she gives her

Meredith Blattner

Meredith Blattner

Meredith Blattner has been a dancer since the age of three. She has studied various styles of dance including tap, ballet, jazz, modern, etc. and was on the Northwest High School Sidekicks Drill Team for 4 years. She spent her first year as a line member, second as a Lieutenant, third as a Co-Captain, and fourth as the Major. During that time Meredith earned many awards in regional and national competitions and earned 2 national titles. Meredith is currently a part of the HTE Dance Staff and works to train dance and drill teams all around the state. She attends Texas Woman's University as a Dance Education Major and plans to become a Dance Director.

Nicole Madison

Nicole has had extensive training for the past twenty years in Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Tap, Clogging, Jazz and Hip Hop at various studios in the DFW area, as well as New York City. She started her own entertainment company, Cowgirls Entertainment, for private and corporate events, including functions for the NFL Association, the Texas Rangers, and Microsoft. Nicole’s choreography received several awards at numerous competitions such as All-American Showcase Nationals, Hall of Fame, Stars of Tomorrow, Showstoppers, and Star Systems Nationals. Nicole performed at Disney World in Florida and at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia. She also toured the east coast with the Hoctor Dance Convention.

Payton Bailey

Payton Bailey

Payton Bailey has been dancing for the past 14 years and acting for the last 8 years. She has always had a passion for dance (hip hop, contemporary, ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap and gymnastics). She also enjoys acting as well. She has appeared in numerous stage shows such as-Shrek The Musical, You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, Chicago, Footloose, Grease, Godspell Jr, Sunday Night Live, Oz The Musical, Cinderella Rocks and The Nutcracker.  She has performed at many local Variety Shows, Festivals and Dance Competitions winning numerous First Overalls as well as performed for Disney World in Florida and Universal Studios in LA. She is excited to continue her training in acting, vocal, music and dance while attending a performing arts school (DFW Performing Arts Conservatory).  Payton is looking forward to sharing her love of dance with her students at DSOD.

Pierce Bailey has been dancing and acting for the last 17 years. He has always had a passion for dance (hip hop, break dancing, contemporary, ballet, jazz, partnering, and gymnastics). He has also enjoys acting as well. He has appeared in several episodes of Barney, ABC’s American Crime, MARVEL'S FOX TV Show The Gifted, Upcoming feature film directed by Robert Rodriguez, a print ad for Frito Lay, several films and industrial films including, Tribute To Big Red with Gary Coleman, the award-winning film Mangus and a Chuck E. Cheese music video. He also shot commercials for Hasbro’s Bey Blades, Texas Lottery, Region 10 and Market Street Grocery. He has performed at many local Variety Shows, Festivals and Dance Competitions winning numerous First Overalls as well as on Monday Night Football for the Dallas Cowboys. He is excited to continue his training in acting and dance while he teaches dance to young children as well.

Shelby Blattner graduated from Texas Tech University in 2018 with her University Studies Degree concentrating in Personal Financial Planning, Integrative Studies, and Human Resources. She has been dancing for 20 years, teaching for 7 years, and is currently teaching at Dana’s Studio of Dance in Southlake and Dana’s Studio of Dance in Keller. She will also be assisting the Drill Team at all DSOD locations.

Shelby is trained in all styles of dance from classical ballet to modern and is even trained in styles such as military and kick. She was a competitive dancer for 12 years and won regional and national titles including National Champion of Tap from Hall of Fame Dance. She was a two year member of Dance Council of North Texas Hoofin’ Crew and was able to learn from tap legends such as Buster Cooper, Jason Janas, and David Mann.

She was a member of the Northwest High School Drill Team called The Sidekicks for 2 years with her second year being the Lieutenant. She has continued working with their organization by choreographing for the team for the last 4 years.

Shelby has loved dance all of her life is looking forward to sharing her love of dance with all of her students!

Stacy Ali

Stacy Ali

Stacy Ali has been a dancer since the age of eight. She has studied ballet, modern, jazz, and hip-hop at dance schools in California and Texas, including Goleta Civic Ballet, Ballet Austin, Joyce Willet, UNT, Millennium, The EdgePAC, Dallas Powerhouse and more. She has performed in “The Nutcracker” nine seasons with Goleta Civic Ballet and Ballet Austin, and in Lambros Lambrou’s “The Rainbow” and “Peter and the Wolf.”

Stacy’s professional experience includes dancing for Usher (in conjunction with Cowgirls Entertainment), Motley Cru and Rockell, touring with Radio Disney, and performing in music videos for Blink 182, The Lost Prophets, J-Lo, A Tribe Called Quest, Pras, and Joss Stone. She has modeled for both Ian Logan Photography and Starz Dancewear. In addition to MTV’s well-known dance competition “The Wade Robson Project,” Stacy has competed in other dance and drill competitions, receiving many awards and scholarships. She’s taught ballet, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, and tap for Dana’s Studio, Debbie’s Studio, Miss Persis Studio, Creative Arts Theatre and School, Millennium, Dallas Powerhouse, and Artistic Motion Dance.

Tina Meisner

Tina Meisner

Tina started dancing at the age of five in East Hartford, Connecticut at Miss Mary Morlock’s School of Dance.  At age fourteen, her family moved to New Brunswick, Canada where she became a member of La Troupe Folklorique du Madawaska.  She performed nationwide with the troupe and also danced on a television variety show called La Bastringue.  Tina was under contract with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation for three years.  She went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada with a major in Dance.  While pursuing her degree, she interned as an associate dance instructor for the Carousel Dance Academy.  After graduating from college, Tina married her college sweetheart and moved to California.  She taught dance at Lawton’s School of Dance in San Diego.  After three years in California, the Meisners relocated to Texas and started a family.  Tina has two daughters.  Her daughter, Kelly, is attending the University of Missouri.  Her daughter, Tara, married her college sweetheart September 28, 2013.  Tara and new son-in-law, Dustin, live in Austin.  Kelly is a student at the University of Missouri M-I-Z… Tina has been teaching at Dana’s Studio of Dance since 1996!
